Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS)

Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS) is one of Connecticut's leading refugee resettlement agencies, welcoming hundreds of refugees and immigrants to the state each year from countries including Afghanistan, Ukraine, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Syria, and Myanmar.

Based in New Haven, IRIS provides comprehensive resettlement services: housing, employment assistance, English-language instruction, medical care coordination, school enrollment, and legal support. The organization's community co-sponsorship model mobilizes volunteer groups across Connecticut to directly support newly arrived families.

Volunteers help with everything from setting up apartments and tutoring English to mentoring families and driving clients to appointments.
