CitySeed

CitySeed works to build a vibrant local food economy in New Haven that is good for both people and the planet. The organization is best known for running the city's beloved farmers markets, which connect local farmers directly with residents and accept SNAP benefits to expand access to fresh food.

Beyond the markets, CitySeed operates Sanctuary Kitchen — a program that empowers refugee and immigrant chefs to build careers and share their cuisine — as well as urban farm plots that grow produce for local hunger-relief programs.

Volunteers support the farmers markets, urban farming, and community events throughout the growing season.
